A Mitsubishi navigation update is needed when the system shows non-existent roads and does not know about new roundabouts or bypasses. Factory maps become outdated over time, so a road you know well may look different on the screen than in reality.

We update three types of Mitsubishi systems: MMCS with HDD, Melco / Grandis with DVD discs, and MMCS with an SD card. For systems of other brands, see the navigation update page.

  • How much does the update cost? The price depends on the type of system. We tell you after the initial diagnostics, which cost 10 €, and agree on it before the work.
  • Do I need to book an appointment? No. Come to the service point during working hours, Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00. There is no need to call in advance.
  • What warranty is provided? Mitsubishi map updates come with a 1-year warranty.
  • How do I know which system I have? It depends on the model and year: MMCS with HDD, W11–W15, E12 or Melco / Grandis. If you are not sure, drop by – we will identify it on the spot.

How to tell that your Mitsubishi map is outdated

A map rarely fails suddenly – most often it simply no longer matches the roads. Here is what people notice and what it may mean.

0110 €

The navigation shows the wrong location or road

WhyMost often it is an old map: new roads, bypasses and roundabouts are not recorded in it. Less often the GPS antenna or a loss of signal is to blame.

Check it yourselfCheck that the car is not under a carport or in an underground car park, and wait a few minutes after starting the engine.

What we doWe run diagnostics and determine whether updating the maps is enough. Read more in the article why the navigation shows the wrong location.

02

New Lithuanian roads and roundabouts are missing

WhyMitsubishi maps do not update automatically – a new version has to be installed separately.

What we doWe update the Lithuanian and European maps according to your system type.

0310 €

Navigation does not work after replacing the SD card

WhyThe card may be incompatible with your MMCS version or may have been written incorrectly.

Check it yourselfCheck that the card is fully inserted and undamaged. Do not disassemble the system unit.

What we doWe check the system and the map storage medium and determine why the card is not recognised.

0410 €

The system says there is no disc or map

WhyIn Melco / Grandis systems the maps are on three DVDs, each covering different countries. The wrong disc may be inserted, or the disc may be scratched.

Check it yourselfCheck that the disc covers the country you are in and that it is not scratched.

What we doWe check the system and the disc and determine whether the problem is with the medium or the equipment.

0510 €

Navigation freezes or loads slowly

WhyIt may be a software error, damaged map files or a worn-out HDD in older MMCS systems.

What we doWe perform initial diagnostics and determine whether an update is enough or the software needs to be repaired.

06

Navigation does not show new points of interest

WhyFactory navigation works with the maps installed on it, so without an update it will not include new shops or petrol stations.

What we doWe install the latest map version suitable for your system.

Myths about navigation updates

  • Myth. The navigation updates itself as I drive. In fact. Factory Mitsubishi systems with an HDD, DVD or SD card do not download maps automatically. A new version has to be installed separately.
  • Myth. Any SD card with maps will work. In fact. The maps must match your MMCS version (W11, W13, E12, etc.). An unsuitable card may not be recognised.
  • Myth. A phone with a map app is enough, so no update is needed. In fact. A phone can be an additional aid, but built-in navigation is often used for convenience and its large screen, so outdated maps are still annoying.

Which Mitsubishi systems we update

The right update method depends on which multimedia system is installed in your car. There are three groups, based on the map storage medium.

  • MMCS with HDD – Lancer 2008–2013, Lancer Sportback 2010–2013, Lancer Evolution 2008–2013, Outlander 2007–2013, Outlander Sport 2011–2013, iMiEV 2012.
  • Melco / Grandis with DVD – models MP-8000 (MZ313040), MP-8100 (MZ313065), MP-8200 (MZ313507) and MP-8210 (MZ313601).
  • MMCS W11, W12, W13, W15 with SD card – Outlander, Lancer, ASX, Pajero, Pajero Sport; for W13 also Outlander PHEV.
  • MMCS E12 with SD card – for example, Pajero Sport from 2016.

Which countries are included in the maps

In the maps for HDD systems, Lithuania is shown in detail, and a large part of Western, Northern and Central Europe is also covered: Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Scandinavian countries and others.

SD card maps cover even more – including the Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia), as well as Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova.

Melco / Grandis: maps on several discs

The European maps of these systems are divided across three navigation discs, each covering different countries. The first covers Western Europe and Britain, the second – Germany, Austria, Italy and the Benelux, the third – Scandinavia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and part of the Balkans.

Therefore, before updating, it is worth knowing which countries you travel to most often.

Why an old map is a problem

New roads and roundabouts do not appear on the map until it is updated. Factory navigation works with the maps loaded on it, so without an update it will not know about new petrol stations, shops or road sections.

If your navigation also shows your location incorrectly, the cause may be not only an old map but also the GPS signal. Read more in the article why navigation shows the wrong location.

Update it yourself or at a service centre

We describe the general principle of updating maps in the article how to update your car navigation. In the case of Mitsubishi, the most important thing is that the map version matches your MMCS type – the system may not recognise an unsuitable storage medium.

That is why many people choose to have the update done at a service centre: we identify the system, load the appropriate maps and check that the navigation displays them.

Before coming to the service point

  • Know your car’s model and year of manufacture.
  • Check whether the system works with an HDD, DVD discs or an SD card.
  • Bring the discs or SD card you have, if any.
  • Remember which countries you travel to most often.
  • Come Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00 – no appointment needed.

How the update works

  1. Identify the system. Check the car model and year of manufacture. If you do not know whether it is MMCS or Melco / Grandis, that is fine – we will identify it on the spot.
  2. Come to the service centre. Come to the Vilnius, Kaunas or Klaipėda service centre Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00. No appointment or advance call is needed.
  3. Initial diagnostics. We check the system and the map storage medium. Diagnostics costs 10 €.
  4. Agreeing on the price. After diagnostics, we tell you the price of the update and start work only with your consent.
  5. Update and check. We load the maps suitable for your system. The maps come with a 1-year warranty.
