Ford navigation maps are not universal: each system uses its own media and format. Some cars need a DVD, others an SD card, so first we determine which system is installed in your Ford.

Below you will find which systems we update, how to tell that your maps are outdated and what to bring. For general information about navigation for all car makes, see the navigation update page.

How much does a Ford map update cost? The initial diagnostics cost €10. The final price depends on the system and the map version; we will tell you after diagnostics and agree on it with you before any work begins.
Do I need to book an appointment? No. You do not need to register or call in advance – simply visit any service point during working hours, Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00.
What warranty do you provide? Map updates come with a 1-year warranty. The maps supplied are the latest available for your system.
Will you update any Ford system? No. We do not update Blaupunkt TravelPilot EX and NX systems. You can find the list of other system types on this page.

Ford navigation does not know about new roads and roundabouts

WhyThe maps were recorded several years ago, and the road network in Lithuania changes every year. The system does not update its maps on its own.

Ford Mondeo, S-Max or Focus navigation shows the car driving across fields

WhyThe new road has not been recorded yet, so the system thinks you are off the road. This is a map problem, not a GPS receiver problem. Learn more in the article why navigation shows the wrong location.

What we doInitial diagnostics cost €10. If the location is displayed correctly but the road is missing, we update the maps according to the price list. If not, we check the receiver and the software.

Ford navigation shows only directions, without a map

WhyOlder Blaupunkt TravelPilot systems (1998–2010) have a monochrome screen and show only the direction; there is no map. This is a feature of the system, not a fault.

Ford Transit or Fiesta navigation does not detect the SD card

WhyThe card may be damaged, in the wrong format or recorded for a different system. SYNC systems check the card very strictly.

Check it yourselfRemove and reinsert the card, and check that it is not bent or scratched.

What we doWe check the card and the data on it and, if necessary, prepare a new map card.

Ford Kuga or C-Max navigation freezes on start-up

WhyMost often it is a corrupted map file or a system software error after a failed update.

Check it yourselfTurn off the ignition, wait a few minutes and restart the system.

Ford navigation disc is not readable

WhyThe DVD is scratched or the reader is worn out. This is common in older DENSO systems.

Check it yourselfInspect the disc and wipe it with a soft cloth from the centre towards the edges.

What we doWe write a new map disc. If the reader is at fault, we will tell you after diagnostics.

Myths about updating Ford navigation

Myth. Ford navigation updates itself if it has GPS. In fact. GPS only determines your location. The maps are stored on the disc or card and change only when a new version is written.
Myth. A map card can be used in any Ford. In fact. The card is prepared for a specific system: MCA, MFD or SYNC. The system will not recognise an unsuitable one.
Myth. It is not worth updating the maps on an old Ford. In fact. Many systems from before 2010 can still be updated. We will give you an exact answer once we determine your system type.
Myth. An update can damage the car’s software. In fact. A map update changes only the map data. It is important to use the right version for your system.

Which Ford navigation systems we update

We update DENSO DVD systems (Ford 2004–2007), Blaupunkt TravelPilot DX, MFD, 9000VNR and Becker (1998–2010), TravelPilot FX with SD card (Focus, C-Max, S-Max, Mondeo, Galaxy, Kuga, Transit), MCA with SD card, MFD SYNC and SONY I SYNC systems.

Newer SYNC systems cover maps of Europe. The specific list of countries depends on the model and year.

We do not update: Blaupunkt TravelPilot EX with CD and NX with DVD.
Older Blaupunkt systems show only directions, without a map.
SONY I SYNC is suitable for US and EU models, 2011–2015.

If you do not know the name of your system, come with your car or bring a photo – we will determine the type.

What to bring and how to prepare

Bring the SD card or disc that was used in the system. If the system asks for a code, have the PIN with you, as it may be needed after the update.

From drop-off to pick-up

You come to the service point. No appointment is needed – visit any service point Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00.
We identify the system. We recognise the Ford system type from the car, card or disc.
Diagnostics. Initial diagnostics cost 10 €. We check the storage medium and the map version.
We agree on the price. After diagnostics we give you the final price and start only with your consent.
We update and hand it back. We write the maps, provide a warranty and return the device.

Customers often ask about Ford navigation

Do you update the navigation on a Ford Mondeo MK4?

The 2007–2010 Mondeo most often has the Blaupunkt TravelPilot FX system with an SD card, and from 2010 – the MCA. We determine the exact type after inspection.

Do you update Ford Transit navigation?

Yes, Transit from 2008 with FX systems and from 2012 with MFD SYNC systems. Also Connect, Custom and Courier.

Can the maps of Ford Kuga, C-Max, S-Max and Fiesta be updated?

Yes, if it has the corresponding FX, MCA or SYNC system. We update the Fiesta from 2013 models onwards.

How many years does the map update warranty last?

We provide a 1-year warranty for map updates.
