How to transport a TV to Žirmūnai without damaging the screen

Before transporting the TV, take it off the wall or remove it from its stand and disconnect all cables. You do not need to bring the legs, bracket or remote control to the service point, unless you suspect the problem is related to them.

It is best to transport a large screen upright, in its original box or wrapped in a blanket. The panel is the most sensitive part: even slight pressure or an object resting on the screen can leave a crack. For a TV of 55 inches or larger, a second person to help carry it would be useful.

If the TV no longer turns on, unplug it from the mains for a few minutes before transporting it. Sometimes this helps, and if it does not, you will at least be able to describe more precisely to the technician what you saw.

TV repair in Vilnius: what happens after you leave the device

First, the initial diagnostics is carried out for €10. It shows whether the fault is in the power supply unit, the mainboard, the T-Con board, the backlight or a socket. After the diagnostics, we give you the repair price and turnaround time. Repair or replacement of a broken socket starts from €25, and repair of other parts, such as the power supply unit or the mainboard, starts from €45. The final amount depends on the model and the fault, so it is agreed before work begins.

Original parts are used for repairs, and a warranty is provided for the work carried out. If you are repairing the TV because of an insurance claim, we can issue a defect report for €30, which is covered by the insurance.

When a TV is worth repairing and when to think about a new one

Repairing is often worthwhile when the fault is electronic: the TV does not turn on, switches off by itself, has no sound or picture, or the HDMI socket does not work. Such faults are most often related to the power supply unit, boards or connectors, rather than the screen itself.

You need to think more seriously when the panel is broken or cracked. The cost of replacing it depends on the screen size and model, and for an older TV it can come close to the price of a new one. That is exactly why diagnostics is useful: for €10 you get a concrete answer instead of a guess.

A few situations in which it is worth acting without delay:

  • you smell burning or hear crackling – unplug the TV from the mains and do not try to turn it on;
  • the screen flickers or switches off by itself – the power supply or capacitors are often to blame, and if you wait too long, the fault can spread to other parts;
  • there is picture but no sound, or vice versa – before bringing it in, replace the HDMI cable and change the input source to rule out simple causes.

If the TV responds to the buttons on its body but not to the remote control, first replace the remote’s batteries and check through your phone camera whether the remote emits a light signal. If not, the problem is most likely in the remote, not the TV.
