How to bring your tool to the Žirmūnai service point

You can come on any working day from 9 to 18. Look for the New Small “Rimi” store next to McDonald’s – the service point is on its side, and the “elMeistrai” sign hangs above the entrance.

It is most convenient to carry a rotary hammer or angle grinder in a case or box so that the cable does not get tangled and the accessories do not fall off. If the tool is smoking or sparking heavily, disconnect it from the mains before transporting it and do not try to switch it on again.

If you know when the fault appeared and what you were doing at the time (drilling concrete, cutting metal, charging the battery), tell the technician – it shortens the search for the cause.

What happens after you leave your tool

First, we carry out initial diagnostics for €10. We check the power cable, plug, switch, carbon brushes, motor, bearings and gearbox, and for cordless tools, also the battery and charger.

After diagnostics, we tell you what is faulty and how much the repair will cost. For example, replacing carbon brushes starts from €12, a switch from €15, and bearings from €25. The final amount depends on the model and parts, so we agree on it before the work. We use original parts and provide a warranty for the work carried out.

When a power tool is worth repairing rather than replacing

Many faults involve worn but inexpensive parts: carbon brushes, cable, switch, chuck. Such a repair is usually worth choosing, especially if the tool is of a more professional class, for example Bosch, Makita, DeWalt or Metabo.
