with the same observation: the device directs you along a road that was reorganized long ago, doesn&#8217;t know about a new roundabout, or tells you to turn where there is now one-way traffic. Roads, detour sections and traffic layouts are constantly changing, so an old map becomes less and less reliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At our service points, we update portable and windshield-mounted navigation devices, devices from other manufacturers running iGo software, and integrated car systems whose maps are stored on a disc, an SD card or an internal HDD. If the device is not only outdated but also won&#8217;t boot, can&#8217;t see satellites or freezes, we first determine the cause. For integrated car systems, the price depends on the make and model; we will tell you the exact amount after inspecting the device.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Do I need to register in advance?<\/strong> No. There is no need to register or call; just come to any service point Mon\u2013Fri 9:00\u201318:00. We are closed on weekends.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>How much does diagnostics cost?<\/strong> Initial diagnostics cost 10 \u20ac. If the navigation is not only outdated but also not working, we first find out the fault and agree on the repair price before starting work.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Which navigation devices do you update?<\/strong> Garmin, iGo \/ WinCE devices (Navimax, Lark, Manta, Becker, Mio, Navigon, etc.) and integrated systems of Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Toyota, Ford, Opel and other makes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"simptomai\">What navigation symptoms indicate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every &#8222;bad&#8221; route means an outdated map. Below are the most common complaints and what usually lies behind them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"em-symptoms\"><article class=\"em-symptom\"><p class=\"em-symptom__n\">01<span class=\"em-symptom__price\">from 15 \u20ac<\/span><\/p><h3 class=\"em-symptom__title\">The navigation shows outdated streets and doesn&#8217;t know about new roads<\/h3><p class=\"em-symptom__why\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Why<\/span>The map version lags behind real-world changes: new bypasses, roundabouts, altered traffic arrangements. This is the most common reason people look for how to update their navigation.<\/p><p class=\"em-symptom__diy\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Check for yourself<\/span>In the device settings, find the map version and year. If they are old, an update is definitely needed. Sometimes the computer does not recognise the device because of a bad USB cable or port.<\/p><p class=\"em-symptom__diy\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Check for yourself<\/span>Try a different USB cable and a different computer port. If you use a memory card, check that it is not damaged.<\/p><p class=\"em-symptom__fix\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">What we do<\/span>We check the memory, the connection port and the software, install the maps and check that the device works with them.<\/p><\/article><article class=\"em-symptom\"><p class=\"em-symptom__n\">03<span class=\"em-symptom__price\">from 30 \u20ac<\/span><\/p><h3 class=\"em-symptom__title\">The navigation shows the wrong location or &#8222;jumps around&#8221;<\/h3><p class=\"em-symptom__why\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Why<\/span>The cause may be a GPS antenna problem, frozen software, or a poor signal reception spot, for example a heated windscreen. Try a different spot on the windscreen.<\/p><p class=\"em-symptom__fix\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">What we do<\/span>We check the GPS receiver and antenna, reflash the software, and if necessary replace the faulty module.<\/p><\/article><article class=\"em-symptom\"><p class=\"em-symptom__n\">04<span class=\"em-symptom__price\">from 25 \u20ac<\/span><\/p><h3 class=\"em-symptom__title\">The navigation won&#8217;t turn on or won&#8217;t charge<\/h3><p class=\"em-symptom__why\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Why<\/span>Often the culprit is a worn charging port, a discharged or swollen battery, or a damaged car charging cable. Do not format the data until you know whether you need it.<\/p><p class=\"em-symptom__fix\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">What we do<\/span>We restore or reflash the software and reinstall iGo or another application and the maps from scratch.<\/p><\/article><article class=\"em-symptom\"><p class=\"em-symptom__n\">06<span class=\"em-symptom__price\">from 35 \u20ac<\/span><\/p><h3 class=\"em-symptom__title\">The touchscreen doesn&#8217;t work or the glass is broken<\/h3><p class=\"em-symptom__why\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Why<\/span>An impact, pressure or prolonged heat on the windscreen can damage the touch glass. A common symptom is that touches register in a different place.<\/p><p class=\"em-symptom__diy\"><span class=\"em-symptom__k\">Check for yourself<\/span>Wipe the screen with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
